Andy Buck is the founder of Leadership Matters, which aims to improve the educational outcomes for pupils by supporting great leadership development for leaders at all levels in the system. In this session He will explore the importance of different leadership styles or approaches, drawing heavily on the work of Daniel Goleman. He will consider how leadership styles need to change over time and according to context. He will then focus on how ‘asking first’ can be a very powerful habit to helping make sure leaders use the right leadership approaches at any given moment. The session will end with attendees thinking about how a coaching approach to everyday leadership can make a real difference to the outcomes for pupils. As always, Andy’s session will be interactive and involve plenty of opportunities for discussion and practice.
