I am an experienced primary school teacher having served in Wiltshire for many years including: being SSL in several settings, supporting schools as a member of the Wiltshire Advisory Service; recently as a SLE delivering NQT CPD; running AGaT workshops and now leading a wonderful Hub of Trowbridge teachers. In addition, I teach part-time on the Bath Spa PGCE course, am a member of a national TAPS project and have run workshops at our regional Science Conference. This additional broader context provides me with my own CPD and points of reference.
I firmly believe primary school children should experience a broad, continuous and progressive science curriculum. Ideally, this will be set in relevant and meaningful contexts and will develop analytical thinking skills. This is to encourage active engagement with the issues faced in a rapidly changing world. It’s also great fun!
I understand the challenges schools and teachers face when creating their science curriculum and recognise that all teachers want to do the best for their children, with the right support.
