Last week, representatives from Collaborative Schools’ Youth Parliament attended the Houses of Parliament, where they were lucky enough to be treated to a tour of both Houses of Parliament. They visited both the House of Commons and the House of Lords, and witnessed some interesting debates. The history of the buildings and democracy was very much brought to life with talks and fantastic guided tours.
They met Andrew Murrison MP and provided some well-considered and mature questions for him. They also got the opportunity within their workshop to create and pass a new law, mirroring the democratic processes that are in place in National Government. We definitely have some budding politicians of the future!
Despite it being a long day all the children were wonderful and a total credit to our school community. A great day!
